This cultivar being noticeably more dense is an improvement because it requires less shearing. Technitos form is a compact pyramidal outline. It has reddish-brown furrowed bark; good green winter color; and medium-fine texture. It prefers moist well-drained soil and has a very slow growth rate. It prefers sun to light shade and its compact habit makes it useful for screening in restricted spaces. It thrives in a wide variety of soils but prefers fertile soils with consistent moisture throughout the growing season.
