The Spruce Oriental Picea orientalis is a slow-growing spruce reaching 60 feet after 60 years. It has a dense narrow columnar habit and pendulous branches. Oriental Spruce is a tall symmetrical tree with attractive pinkish gray bark that cracks and exfoliates when mature. Its needles are glossy dark green with stomatic lines on both sides. It wont need any pruning so let it grow into its natural graceful shape. Oriental Spruce tolerates poor gravelly soil but needs protection from harsh winds.
